Voice of the People, led by President Isaac Herzog, is a global council of 150 Jewish leaders. Over sixteen months, members meet, form working groups, and take on challenges facing the Jewish people. It is voluntary, and it convenes once in Israel.

Five guiding principles

What we believe in,and how we try to live it.

01
One People

Everything starts here.

We come from different places, backgrounds, and perspectives, but we share responsibility for the future of the Jewish people and our relationship with Israel.
02
Diversity

Not a box to check. A source of wisdom.

The strongest ideas emerge when different experiences, viewpoints, and expertise meet. Distinct strengths, combined, become collective capability.
03
Generous Leadership

Contribution over credit.

Openness, curiosity, and humility, placing collective impact above personal recognition.
04
Steadiness

Tension held as insight.

Holding complexity without losing direction, letting disagreement deepen understanding rather than fracture relationships.
05
Collective Readiness

Ready when the moment calls.

This council exists for a purpose. Readiness cannot be simulated or accelerated. It is forged through repeated shared work, so that when the moment calls we are ready to contribute, mobilize, build, and lead.
The commitment

What we askof each other.

16
Months of service
4–6
Hours a month
Virtual meetings, sub-group meetings, and assignments. Plus a lifelong readiness to answer the call.

Convening in Israel
100%
Voluntary, always

We share this openly because we respect your time. This is a working council: members join working groups, show up for one another, and build something real together. In return, a global community, deep relationships, and a hand in shaping what comes next for our people.

Voice of the People has given me meaningful connections with Jewish people globally. At a time of immense challenges for both Israel and the Diaspora, being able to navigate them together, sharing our different perspectives and experiences, has been incredibly powerful.
